Boston Kokikai Aikido

"minimum effort maximum effect"

In Aikido class we learn to be aware of our surroundings yet concentrating at the same time.  We are training for multiple attackers.  Therefore it is important to be able to concentrate on one attacker while building our awareness for the movements of other attackers.

How do we practice for attacks of multiple attackers?  We practice first with one attacker.  The Ki Principles help us to develop a basic stability.  As each attacker comes we are able to then turn our attention to that attacker.  Ultimately we have up to five attackers on our tests.
